Colours & Backgrounds

Most components let you set background colours via the Appearance tab Admin. There are three colour fields, each using the same colour palette. In the Drupal backend, you simply click a colour circle — no technical names or codes to remember.

Inner Background	The boxed area that contains the component
Content Background	The individual content items (cards, list items)

Tip

Transparent is the default for all three fields. Start with Transparent and add colour only when you need visual separation between sections.

Not every colour field is always functional

Depending on the component and the chosen render style, one or more of the Outer, Inner, or Content Background fields may have no visible effect — for example, a component with no background container ignores the Outer Background setting. If a colour choice doesn’t seem to do anything, check the frontend preview before assuming it’s broken.

Random background colour

Some components (such as Photos) may have a random Background (Outer Background / palette 1) colour automatically assigned if none is explicitly set. To avoid unexpected colours, always set the Outer Background deliberately rather than leaving it unset.
