Subsites

Albury City doesn’t run one single website — it runs a family of related websites that all share this same content system. Content you create can be shown on just the main Council site, or on one or more of the other sites, without having to create it separately for each one.

Domain Access — where content shows up

Every piece of content has a Domain Access field with a checkbox for each site in the family.

Domain Access — Checkboxes

• Tick Council to show the content on the main site
• Tick any other site(s) to also show it there
• You can tick multiple boxes — the same page, news article, or event can appear on more than one site at once

Practical example

A community event happening at The Pumphouse Makerspace might be ticked for both Council and The Pumphouse Makerspace, so it shows up on both the main events listing and the Makerspace’s own site.

Domain Source — the “home” site

Alongside Domain Access, content also has a Domain Source setting — the single site that “owns” the content. This controls:

• The web address (URL) used when the content is shared or linked to
• Which site’s search results and listings treat the content as native

Choose carefully

Domain Source should usually match the site the content is most closely associated with — not just the first box you happened to tick under Domain Access. If you’re unsure which to choose, ask the development team.
